Rachel King

Hello! I'm Rachel, a DONA-trained birth doula dedicated to providing compassionate and empowering support to expectant parents in Rexburg, Idaho and the surrounding areas. I am currently accepting clients with due dates from August through October 2025.

My Philosophy

The journey into parenthood is transformative, and every woman deserves to feel supported, advocated for, and informed throughout her pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. As you prepare to welcome your new baby, you may be seeking guidance, emotional support, or a trusted advocate—a doula can be an invaluable resource to meet these needs.

My passion for a mother's journey stems from the empowering birth of my own daughter. This experience magnified the importance of informed choice and a woman's inherent strength in bringing life into the world. My passion for birth led me to pursue doula work, and I am committed to helping you feel confident and surrounded by love as you navigate your unique path to motherhood and heal postpartum.

My Services

As your doula, I will be a continuous source of emotional, physical, and informational support, and advocate for you and your husband (if applicable). My comprehensive services are designed to prepare you for a positive birth experience and a smooth transition into parenthood:

  • Free In-Person Consultation: Let's connect and see if we're a good fit!
  • 1-2 Prenatal Visits: These visits will cover birth and postnatal care education, and help us assess your individual emotional support needs.
  • Personalized Plans: I will assist you in creating a written copy of your birth preferences and a postpartum plan.
  • Optional Provider Visit: I can attend one prenatal visit with your healthcare provider.
  • Unlimited Support (Business Hours): Throughout your pregnancy, you'll have unlimited phone, text, and email support during business hours.
  • 24/7 On-Call Support: I am on call for you after 38 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Continuous Labor and Birth Support: I will provide continuous support throughout your labor, delivery, and for up to two hours immediately after birth to assist with initial bonding and breastfeeding.
  • Postpartum Home Visit: Approximately one week postpartum, I will visit you at home to check in, help you process your birth journey, assist with light housework, and provide any necessary education or resources for up to 2 hours.
  • Digital Birth Photos: Receive digital copies of any photos I capture during your birth.
  • Complimentary Gift: A small gift of appreciation for choosing me as your doula and to celebrate you and your baby.

My Commitment & Professional Development

I am a DONA-trained doula and am actively working towards my certification. My commitment to ongoing education is a cornerstone of my practice; I consistently deepen my knowledge through the study of birth education and am also working towards midwifery. This continuous learning ensures I provide you with the most current and evidence-based information and support.

Fees

As a new doula, I am offering my first three clients my full package for a special introductory rate of $350.

My regular fee for the full doula package is $800.

I believe that financial considerations should not be a barrier to receiving doula support. Please do not hesitate to ask me about payment plans if needed.
