Mary Jenkins

Hello, my name is Mary Jenkins. While I’ve moved around the country in my formative years, I have spent the majority of my life in Idaho and have lived in Southeast Idaho since 2012. In 2017 I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYUI) in Civil Engineering and have since worked in the engineering field. I’m married to a wonderful man and have a crazy little one of my own. I enjoy being a parent and auntie throughout all stages of life. I love the outdoors and love outdoor activities regardless of my compatibility with them.

My mother had all 9 of her children at home, this formed my understanding and views of childbirth at a young age. I let my understanding of childbirth fade with time, but I attended the births of family whenever the opportunity arose. When I became pregnant I did a lot of research into birth and my resulting choices stemmed from my past experiences, albeit personal or witnessed.

I decided I wanted to be a doula after helping a sibling through her successful VBAC and discovering that I wanted to help facilitate the same opportunity of gaining the best birth memories for others. I believe that every parent should have continuous support during pregnancy, labor and postpartum regardless of birth preferences, income, location, or beliefs. I believe every parent has the right to fulfilling birth memories and events that they can look back on with satisfaction and joy.

My goal is to support and educate parents and their partners, both prenatally and in labor. Prenatally I would teach partners different labor comfort techniques and coping mechanisms that they can utilize to help facilitate a joyful experience.

I plan on serving from West Yellowstone to Malad and Leadore, ID to Star Valley, WY.
