Congratulations on your pregnancy! Every pregnancy and baby are special, no matter if they are number one or number seven. If you found my page then you must be seeking out support to birth how you want to birth. And that is amazing, you deserve to feel supported. My journey in birth work started when I was deciding how I wanted to labor and birth my second child. It was then that I started thinking about my first experience and what I wanted to be different for my second. I decided to educate myself further and seek out a provider that I aligned with and felt listened to me. I met with three providers before I found one I felt I aligned with. It was important to me that I could find someone who could support me in what I wanted. This changed absolutely everything for me. I felt calm and had faith in my provider supporting my birth preferences. I wish every expecting mother could feel calm and have faith in their provider to respect their wishes.
I am an advocate for finding a provider that is the right fit for you, that will support you however you want to labor and safely birth your baby. Even if you are near the end of pregnancy, I will always support mothers in finding a care provider and birth team that is right for them. You will remember the births of your babies for the rest of your life. Who you have on your birth team matters.
A little bit about me! I live in Pocatello, Idaho and grew up here. In addition to being a birth doula, I am a photographer, a sourdough enthusiast, attempting to be a gardener and I love Dr. Pepper and KitKats. My family loves to overland, which is to camp along trails atop our vehicle in a rooftop tent. My husband and I met in college, and we have two darling girls. My oldest daughter was born with a chromosomal microdeletion and is nonverbal on the autism spectrum. I find myself advocating for her a lot of the time as well as for my birth clients. I am a trained birth doula through DONA as of October 2024.
It is my wish that every mother who wants a doula can have one. To be able to feel that extra support. Birth doesn’t have to be traumatic or scary. It is a privilege to help educate and empower mothers to know what they are capable of. If you’ve made it this far, thank you! I totally think you should do it- hire a doula that is. I hope you feel supported in this sacred time in your life. Reach out to me via text or email if you would like to meet up and chat!
